We’re in NY and eating all the pizza we can. Sad fact about New Orleans: even though there is so much great food, there is nothing at all that really deserves the name of pizza. It’s frustrating that New Orleanians themselves don’t realize this, they’ve simply never experienced genuine NY-NJ pizza. (They’re like the Ohio people who think Pizza Hut is actually pizza.) Domenica is OK but it’s a gourmet, thin crust, Tuscan trip, not at all like the real metro Neapolitan wop stuff. Venezia is actually pretty damn good, but it’s in a rather out of the way (for me) part of town. And Theo’s, Reginelli’s, Slice, and the rest — fuggedaboutit.
