Off to Loyola

The dissertation is in the hands of readers; I will be defending the Ph. D. on August 2 in Princeton; between now and then I will be moving my family to New Orleans where I will start teaching in the history department at Loyola University.

The good news is it’s a job, it has benefits, we won’t starve, the kids have places to go to school, Lisa is happy to be going back to NOLA. The bad news is, it’s not on the tenure track, the pay is not all that great, and most of my teaching will be not in anything I really know about but in World History, which I will have to figure out how to teach in the next couple months.

Whatever, we’ll figure it out! On to the next thing.
