Day Log: 6-4-09

  • Met with Peter Silver, for the first time in a few months. We had an excellent conversation covering everything from intellectual substance to the practical problems of research and writing. He is concerned — with justification, obviously — about my ability to stay in touch and self-motivated from my New Orleans exile. He also feels it’s important that I do some meaningful writing soon, but instead of the Early Impressions of Louisiana project I proposed to SW, thinks I’d be better off writing up some of my thoughts, conclusions, and findings related to the Livingston collection, before I leave Princeton.
  • I also wrote the mini-essay below re: Thomas Jefferson.
  • Most of the afternoon was taken up with doctor and nutritionist appointments.
